The 2023 Hyundai Palisade Brings a Long List of Improvements This Year
Posted on February 7, 2023
Introduced back in 2020, the Hyundai Palisade is the most versatile and welcoming sport utility vehicle in the Hyundai family. It provides three rows of seats and considerably more interior capability than the Hyundai Santa Fe. It is designed to provide everything families need in their next SUV with remarkable third-row space, advanced safety and connectivity technologies, including side mirrors that provide a view of your blind spot when turning or changing lanes, and impressive comfort. You find all of this in the 2023 Hyundai Palisade, but you also enjoy the improvements that were made this year that make the Hyundai three-row SUV even more appealing.
The 2023 Hyundai Palisade has undergone what is routinely called in the industry a mid-cycle refresh. The objective of a mid-cycle refresh is to enhance the elements that need to be improved according to first adopters and create a better version of the model's current generation. The 2023 Hyundai Palisade does just that with the improvements made this year. It keeps the proven recipe that has made the Palisade so successful over the last three years, but it does improve on certain elements to create an even more appealing option in the three-row midsize SUV segment.
Exterior and Interior Improvements
The 2023 Hyundai Palisade changes begin outside, where we see new wheel designs and redesigned front and rear bumper designs. The new model also includes redesigned square exhaust tips in the back. There are new metallic inserts underneath the tailgate, and the top-of-the-line Ultimate Calligraphy version gets colour-matched design elements around the headlights, on the front grill, and on the bottom portion of the bumpers. These elements are now black on the Preferred and Urban trims.
The interior also gets slight revisions. The large centre console and digital dashboard that combine two large screens including a 12-inch centre display remains roughly identical to the previous Palisade. However, the steering wheel has been replaced with Hyundai designers switching the previous three-pronged steering wheel for a more modern design that we have seen previously on the Tucson and Sonata, for example. We also find slightly revised seat designs.
Hyundai did not need to fully redesign the interior of the Palisade or the exterior, for that matter, but the changes do allow consumers to quickly differentiate the 2023 model from previous iterations. There is also more technology in the new Palisade, including available Wi-Fi Connectivity and a digital rear-view mirror that provides better visibility when every row is occupied.
Same Engine and Impressive Versatility
In terms of cargo capacity, the 2023 Palisade has stayed the same. It still delivers a generous 510 L of total cargo space behind the third row while lowering that row provides 1,297 L of space. You get nearly 2,500 L of cargo space if you fold down both rows.
Hyundai hasn't changed the proven powertrain of the 2023 Palisade either. The three-row Hyundai SUV will continue to be powered by a 3.8-litre V6 with 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. This V6, therefore, will continue to outshine many of its direct competitors, including the Honda Pilot, Volkswagen Atlas, Nissan Pathfinder, Toyota Highlander, and Mazda CX-9 in terms of standard horsepower.
In simple terms, Hyundai has kept everything current owners of the Palisade love about their three-row SUV while providing more refined exterior and interior design elements and more connectivity technology to make every family adventure more enjoyable. Give us a call today to learn more.
